"OH NO it's a girl !.."

The story of the "Selective abortion" in India has been talked about so much in the last few days. Apparently, about 7 million girls have been "missing" from demographic statistics of births in India. The sex ration (proportion of male to female babies) has gone up from 103 in the period of 1969-1979 to 114 in 2000-2005.

The problem is not confined only to India. Wherever females are seen as mere reproducing machines or, worse, a shame to family, this barbaric tradition reigns.

The differences between genders is very clear: Man is NOT like woman, and woman is NOT like man. from all aspects of life; the differences are so apparent that only the fool would deny them. Physiologically, psychologically, physically, .. etc

If you got here and you didn't stop reading :"here's another sick sexist".. Well done...

The issue of gender equality has been polemicised by fanatics :pseudo-intelligentsia, pseudo-religious, or corrupt opportunistic politicians.
Although both genders are different in the aspects that i mentioned before, they are both equally held responsible of their deeds. Different functions? rather complementary functions. I am still baffled by the way that gender has evolved; but it works (quasi-miraculously) very well.

I am a strong supporter of women rights, and their right to "be born" is obviously paramount. Every effort must be made to save the lives of human beings, no matter what gender they are. Life is sacred, and human souls are equal in the right to be given the opportunity to live.

I would like to quote a scripture, the Quran... A very powerful picture is given here:

"for, whenever any of them is given the glad tiding of [the birth of] a girl,
his face darkens, and he is filled with suppressed anger.
Avoiding all people because of the [alleged] evil of the glad tiding which
he has received, [and debating within himself:] Shall he keep this [child] despite
the contempt [which he feels for it]-or shall he bury it in the dust? Old, evil indeed is whatever they decide!" (16-58)
Wisdom is never too old...
